Intentional Peer Support is a peer support training that prepares individuals to share their lived experience in a meaningful, respectful, and transformative way, with others who are going through difficult life experiences. IPS emphasizes the peer relationship as the effective tool for transformation and growth.
Participants in IPS Core Training will experience an immersive, highly interactive peer support training that helps them build the interpersonal skills essential to providing effective peer support. This is not a passive, lecture-based training; instead, it utilizes role play, experience sharing, and interactive activities that will help participants hit the ground running as they enter peer support work. It is important to note that IPS Core Training is a 40-hour training that qualifies participants for Peer Support Specialist Certification in the State of North Dakota. In order to successfully complete the course, a participant must attend 90% (36 hours) or more of the training, or work with instructors to make up missed time.
